Background:
George Campbell received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Texas Tech University in 1969 and a Master of Arts degree from the School of Urban and Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1989. He began his career as a city manager in Coppell, Texas where he served from 1972 until 1977. He was City Manager for the City of Weatherford, Texas from 1977 to 1983 when he accepted the position of Deputy City Manager for the City of Arlington, Texas. He then became Arlington’s City Manager in 1991 and served in that position until his retirement in 1999. In November 2002 Mr. Campbell left retirement and returned to the City of Weatherford as City Manager. He then became City Manager for the City of Denton in November of 2006.
